Summary
Assists school administration in providing effective leadership and guidance in the operations of the school
Essential Duties
Assists the total school program in accordance with District philosophy, school board requirements, accrediting agency standards, and state school statutesAssists with student behavior management, citizenship responsibilities, and positive growthAssists in supervising, directing, and improving the instructional programProvides information and assistance to the principal for effective decision-makingEncourages staff interaction conducive to the maintenance of a positive working atmosphereAssists in registering, orienting, and scheduling studentsAssists in organizing and implementing staff development opportunitiesAssists in implementing student support team functions according to guidelinesAssists with organization and supervision of extracurricular activitiesAssists with the coordination of functions related to traffic control and student transportationAssists in providing and/or supervising auxiliary services, including pupil attendance and accountingHelps to ensure the health, safety, and welfare of students and staff membersAssists in supervising the maintenance and operation of the schoolAssists with proper compliance and implementation of the collection and use of school fundsAssists with reviews of disbursement packages for proper documentation, appropriateness of purchases, and signatures in accordance with local school accounting procedures, as assignedProvides appropriate instruction to students according to the Fulton County Schools teacher job description, if duties include teachingStays abreast of educational research, trends, and issuesPerforms other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator
Required Education
Master's Degree
Certification/Licensure
Must hold or be eligible to hold a valid Georgia Teaching(T), Service(S), or Leadership(L) Certificate at a Level 5 or above
Experience Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of successful teaching or other related experience in an educational environment at the school level
Knowledge/Skills/AbilitiesKnowledge of instructional strategies that connect the curriculum to the learnersAbility to function calmly and effectively under pressureClassroom management skillsDemonstrated ability to multi-taskExcellent organizational skillsExcellent communication skills both orally and in writing
