Nesco Resource is excited to announce an opportunity for a Quality Manager at a leading automotive finishing company. This role is designed for an individual eager to make a significant impact on our quality processes and ultimately transition into a Division Quality Manager position. You will oversee quality assurance activities, ensuring the delivery of world-class products while developing and enhancing IATF:16949 processes. This is a contract-to-hire position, offering the chance to grow your career in a dynamic environment.

Quality Manager
Location: Dearborn, MI (with travel to MI, OH, KY, MO, and TN)
Contract-to-Hire
Salary Range: $33.65 - $43.27/HR (Based on experience)

Key Responsibilities:

  1. IATF16949 Process Management:

    • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve IATF:16949 documentation, including work instructions, PFMEA, control plans, and audit plans.
    • Conduct internal audits and ensure compliance with IATF:16949 standards, focusing on achieving and maintaining quality excellence.
    • Monitor and report monthly KPIs while implementing strategies to reduce the Cost of Quality.
  2. Supplier and Customer Quality Liaison:

    • Collaborate with the Quality Specialist to address supplier and customer quality concerns, issuing GIMS and SCARs as necessary.
    • Manage customer website maintenance and review corrective actions for warranty claims, ensuring timely and accurate documentation in the CAR Software.
  3. Support Quality Activities for Customer Programs:

    • Act as the Voice of the Customer (VOC) during launch activities and other quality initiatives, including APQP processes.
    • Track and report on costs related to quality issues, both internally and with suppliers, providing monthly updates.
  4. Key Dates and Launch Requirements:

    • Schedule and conduct visits to manufacturing plants, providing follow-up summaries on performance and quality concerns.
    • Ensure alignment with key project milestones and deliverables.

Qualifications:

  • Education:

    • Minimum: High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Quality Engineering or a related field (experience may be considered in lieu of education).
  • Experience:

    • Minimum: 1-3 years of experience with TS16949 or IATF16949 quality management systems.
    • Preferred: 3-5 years of leadership experience in automotive manufacturing, with a solid background in quality audits, Environmental Management Systems, OSHA requirements, and tier 1 PPAP submissions.
  • Skills and Requirements:

    • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as required.
    • Proficiency in MS Office and strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.
    • Familiarity with the APQP process, including FMEA and control plan development.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and a team-oriented approach.

Schedule:
This position typically follows core business hours from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, with flexibility based on departmental needs.
