Key Essential Functions and Accountabilities of the Job
Patrols campus and assigned areas to monitor for conditions or situations which pose a risk to the safety of people or property.Provides routine comprehensive security services, including:Assistance with patient restraint;Intervention in disruptions by patients;Traffic control;Guarding and patrolling physical property;Escorting visitors and employees;Monitoring systems;Orienting and monitoring of personnel working in high-risk areas;Investigation of incidents;Access control;Enforcement of visitor policies;Respond to emergencies;Respirator fit testing;Hazard surveillance surveys;Participation in emergency drills; andPublic assistance requests.Other duties as assigned

Education, Certifications, and Licenses Required:
High School Diploma or equivalentValid Alaska driver's licenseCertification in dealing with aggressive behaviors within 90 daysBasic Life Support (BLS) within 90 daysIAHSS Basic certification within 6 monthsFEMA Incident Command core competencies within 90 daysExperience Required
Six months of security-related experienceKnowledge of
Security policies and proceduresSkills in
Effective communicationAbility to
Defuse potential security situations, including aggressive individualsExercise good judgement in stressful and emergent situations
