For one of our long-term multiyear projects, we are looking for a Certified Project Manager out of Madison, WI. This position is responsible for helping the executive leadership team develop departmental strategy and then help to define strategic initiatives from that strategy. This person should have exceptional communication skills and a high degree of emotional intelligence (EQ) in order effectively work with a broad spectrum of business leaders. This is a business focused project manager position and not a technical position. Must be able to facilitate business group discussions in a professional manner in a decision-making environment. Responsible for assembling and managing working teams that are business focused. Responsible for tracking key project milestones and adjusting project plans and/or resources to meet the needs of customers. Assists and partners with senior management of the business community to identify and prioritize opportunities that achieve the goals of the enterprise. This is a senior role that has responsibility for large initiatives with great impact to the enterprise. Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related field, or equivalent work experience. Project Management certification or successful completion of a recognized project management curriculum is preferred. Typically, has more than 10 years of program and project management work experience with various business projects. Experience with projects in multiple business functions that required organizational change is preferred. Must Have: Ability and willingness to understand and execute the departments project management methodology. Management of large projects. Understanding of project management methodologies. Ability to communicate effectively with both executive leadership, peers, and application users Ability to meet project deadlines. Manage multiple, concurrent projects, activities, and tasks under time constraints Project Manager capabilities. Capable of managing a project with up to ten (10) or more staff and/or a project with multiple sub-projects. Strong organization skills to effectively manage/oversee the multiple projects, activities and tasks that occur simultaneously. Ability to work independently with direction given by the Project Manager. Capable of managing a project or subset of a project with up to ten (10) staff. Experience in the use of Project Management tools. Experience using MS Project, or other standard project management software, is a plus but not required. Strong project management skills. Nice to Have: Change management expertise demonstrating strong leadership and vision. Organizational Development specific to communicating large-scale change efforts. Experience in organizational Change Management process design and execution. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification required.
