Job Title: Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical Job Specialty: Medical Surgical Job Duration: 18 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30) Guaranteed Hours: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years required; First-timers not accepted License: Valid State License required; Candidates can be submitted without a license in hand, but license must be obtained prior to start Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: - Epic experience - Skills in Med/Surg, Telemetry (remote monitoring), Colostomy care, Feeding tube care and management, Blood Product Administration, Central line blood draw, Peripheral Line Care/Management, Phlebotomy, PICC line management, Starting IVs, Heparin, Insulin, PCA Job Description: - Work in a Magnet & Teaching Hospital / Level I Trauma Center - Perform care in a medical overflow high turn-over surgery patient unit - Patient diagnoses include ostomy, colon resection, colon cancer, bladder cancer, and GU - Administer drips such as Heparin, Lidocaine, Bicarb, Bivaldrubin, Amiodarone (Stable Non-Titrated) occasionally - Manage PCAs, Epidurals, and CBIs with different irrigation solutions - Perform special procedures such as continuous bladder irrigation (CBI) and TURPs - Manage cases following protocols for colorectal patients - Work every other weekend - Must be open to floating within the service line to meet facility needs - Not open to block schedule accommodation - Handle high turnover surgery patients and perform related medical procedures
