Certification Details Must hold an active BLS, ACLS, AWHONN, NRP, and CA License. Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, AWHONN Advanced EFM NO NICU in house, RN must be comfortable with NRP Job Details A hospital near Sacramento is looking for experienced Labor and Delivery nurses for a travel contract. The right candidate will have 2 years of experience. Job Requirements Must have at least 1 year of LDRP or L&D experience; prefer 3 years of experience in these settings. Will take L&D only but will not accept a candidate who only has postpartum experience. Prefer scrub experience for c-sections. Will accept first time travelers. They will also be expected to circulate in the OR, but we can orient to that if needed. RNs required to titrate drips. Experience with common titratable &/or set rate drips such as pitocin and very occasionally insulin. Schedule Information Scheduling is 4 weeks in advance;12hr Nights, EOW, First to Float. Travelers will work 2 of the 3 holidays (TG, X-mas, NYs). Holiday time off will be considered, however not guaranteed. 2 weekend shifts per 4 week schedule, Nights - fri/sat, Days - Sa/Sun. Weekend Requirements. Is there a call or standby requirement? If on the schedule you may be placed on-call/standby. Unit Specific Information Do you follow AWHONN guidelines for ratios? 1:2 L&D, 1:1 delivery. 1:4 Mother/Baby couplets. Charge Nurse/House Supervisor? Does the charge nurse take an assignment? Yes, generally does not take patients, but will take an assignment if needed. Are there nurse aids/surgical techs on this unit? No CNAs, but they have perinatal techs that can scrub in for c-sections, usually one on staff during the shift. OB/Neonatologist in house 24/7? OB is in-house 24/7. They have a perinatal specialist to improve neonatal complications. Anesthesia in house 24/7? Anesthesia not in house 24/7, but on-call. If there are no patients, there is not an anesthesiologist in-house; they would be on call with a 20-minute response time. If any patients have an epidural, they are in house and would stay for the entirety. RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc.). RT attends every delivery and will assist in providing respiratory support and manage equipment when needed. Equipment: Ventilator, CPAP, bubble CPAP machine. Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? GE monitors - nurses do take ACLS, but if a patient had general anesthesia, they would be recovered in the Main PACU. EFM System: Fetalink Additional Details Med Sol prescreens, unit will have 24 hours to rescind offer if necessary. Need 2 sup refs (charge accepted) at submittal; 1 within 12 mo. & 1 within 3 years worked. Modules are required to be done before start of assignment. Modules take on average 3-4 hours to complete-this time is not billable. Floating Requirements? All other Sacramento facilities. Mid-shift float to another facility is rare, but can happen.
