Software Development Engineer II

to join the CAASE development team. You will develop tools and system services that monitor and manage our custom hardware accelerators in the Azure fleet.

You will help enable specialized acceleration and customized offloading hardware in our servers in partnership with multiple teams across Microsoft. The software components you deliver include system software and cloud services that monitor, deploy and maintain cutting edge acceleration hardware in the Azure fleet at massive scale. experience developing production software in C or C++2+ years of experience in systems and user-mode hardware programming with Windows and/or Linux systems2+ years of experience with system server architecture, including PCIe devices and PCIe busOther Requirements:Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:Microsoft Cloud Background Check:This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with programming in languages other than C/C++ such as Rust, Python, C#Experience developing device drivers and/or device software for Windows or LinuxExperience with cloud-scale telemetry and monitoring systemsUnderstanding interaction of system software, hardware architecture and protocolsExperience developing software for PCIe devices or familiarity with PCIe protocol and standardsFamiliarity with software engineering tools such as Git, Visual Studio, and kernel debuggersSoftware Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 - $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year.
