Registered Nurse - PICU @ Childrens Hospital of Orange County Rapid Response

Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:00) Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: Minimum of 1 year required License: Must have CA license in hand Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS Must-Have: Experience in a teaching hospital required Job Description: - Provide care to patients aged birth to 18 years in the PICU.- Manage and monitor arterial lines, perform conscious sedation, and use continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO).- Care for critical care patients, including those with metabolic issues, respiratory conditions, endocrinology, oncology, neurosurgical challenges, level 1 traumas, and cardiology needs.- Weekend shifts required every other week.- Floating required, primarily to NICU and CVICU, with potential to assist in other areas.- Documentation experience preferred with Cerner.- First-time travelers are eligible.- COVID-19 Vaccine required, with exceptions for medical or religious reasons.- Holiday time off requests are approved on a first-come, first-serve basis, with manager discretion.- Experience with supervising references required within one year of employment or from the most recent employer.
