Job Description
The Sales Training Manager is a training business partner to sales responsible for leading the development and implementation of sales training initiatives and programs for assigned sales forces. This person will collaborate cross-functionally with groups such as product divisions, marketing, operations and more to deliver needed training. This person will own implementation and facilitation of sales training courses on behalf of sales, and be in touch with needs of the evolving needs of the field and advise on training curriculum, course structure. The Sales Training Manager will identify key metrics, track and ensure success.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate cross-functionally to implement and facilitate sales training courses. Ensure training materials align with business needs and learning strategy.
Develop and manage sales rep performance scorecards and course metrics to assess rep performance and course effectiveness.
Manage quarterly content review process within Sales Training team and in conjunction with business partners.
Own and manage training schedules to ensure accuracy in agenda structure, class time, and facilitators.
Lead certification of training facilitators: inspecting for message delivery and course facilitation guidelines, providing feedback on session success and when development is required, inspection of facilitation skills in classroom setting.
Own and mange pre and post-class activities and communications.
Class facilitation and management.
Partner with sales leadership and relevant stake holders to identify business priorities, needs and gaps. Develop and deliver training content to address.
Build effective relationships internally and externally to stay connected to needs of the field via field travel, meeting attendance and events. Identify opportunities and proactively recommend training solutions.
Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree.
Work Experience:
Sales experience: direct selling experience or experience working in close partnership/support of sales function.
Experience presenting to and communicating with various audiences (ex. others with differing language, senior management and non-technical audiences).
Experience controlling and coordinating concurrent projects, competing priorities and critical deadlines.
Experience collaborating with internal and external resources to develop strategies that meet department goals within budget and established timelines.
Experience with Microsoft office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel).
Position requires travel up to 25% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).
Preferred Requirements:
Experience implementing and delivering training programs to various audiences within an organization.
Experience with Medline’s CRM, reporting and quoting systems.
Field trainer experience.
