We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Accounting Manager to join our team in the manufacturing industry. This is a permanent position that offers the successful candidate an opportunity to lead and manage our finance team. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our accounting department, including general ledger, financial auditing, cost accounting, accounts payable, financial accounting, and payroll management. This is a pivotal role within our organization that requires a hands-on professional with a strong understanding of the manufacturing industry and a proven track record in financial management.

Responsibilities:

As an Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for:

  1. Overseeing the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives.
  2. Directing and coordinating all accounting operational functions including the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
  3. Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results.
  4. Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements.
  5. Coordinating activities of external auditors.
  6. Providing management with information vital to the decision-making process.
  7. Managing the budget process.
  8. Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement, and implementing new processes.
  9. Evaluating accounting and internal control systems.
  10. Developing and monitoring business performance metrics.
  11. Overseeing regulatory reporting, including tax planning and compliance.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for the Accounting Manager role will have the following qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. An MBA or related advanced degree is preferred.
  2. Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation is preferred.
  3. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position.
  4. Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  5. Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems.
  6. Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations.
  7. Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
  8. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  9. Experience in a manufacturing business environment is a must.
  10. Ability to work with a diverse team and influence/drive change across functional and business boundaries.
