Our title officer reads, examines conducts title searches and reviews records to determine the effect on properties. Our title officer understands property records and prepares detailed reports, reviews all closing documents and instructions pertaining to transactions.
*The position is full-time and is based in our Honolulu, Hawaii office. In-office attendance will be required.*
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Reads and plots legal descriptions on tax maps and/or filed maps Reviews upper court judgment searches and determines if they attach to the property or parties Enters data into the title database, generates the necessary documentation, and communicates appropriately with clients and appropriate parties Completes the real estate closing process; ensures compliance with real estate contracts, lender instructions, title requirements, company requirements, and other written instructions Collaborates with the escrow department to resolve title issues (e.g., legal descriptions, easements, lot splits, vesting, tax liens, abstracts of judgments, bankruptcies, boundary disputes, encroachments, and lis pendens) Professionally communicates with customers and clients to ensure customer satisfaction Participates in/on meetings and discussions with customers, realtors, lenders, and attorneys, as needed or requested Reads, examines, and prepares update reports upon request Processes incoming orders and searches upon request Reviews industry publications to remain knowledgeable of changes in laws and practices affecting the issuance of title policies Performs any other duties delegated by management Adheres to company policies, guidelines, and procedures QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of 5-7 years of title experience searching, examining, and preparing title documents EDUCATION
Minimum high school diploma or equivalent is required. CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, INSURANCE
A Hawaii state producer license is not required, but helpful. KNOWLEDGE
Must be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the Hawaii title industry field. SKILLS

Factors which may be used to determine the actual pay rate may include, but are not limited to, education, training or experience; seniority; merit and work performance; quantity or quality of production; regional differences in compensation; differences in local minimum wages, or ability and effort.
Pay Range for the position is: $65,000.00 to $75,000.00. Old Republic complies with all federal, state and local laws including minimum wage requirements. In the event a minimum hourly rate stated is lower than the minimum wage required by law, Old Republic will always pay an amount equal to or greater than the minimum wage required by law.
