AS400 COBOL Developer (REMOTE)

Senior AS400 COBOL Developer Minneapolis, MN. On-site. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior AS400 COBOL Developer to join our team in Minneapolis, MN. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in COBOL programming, in-depth knowledge of AS400 systems, and a proven track record of delivering robust and efficient solutions. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain COBOL programs and applications on the AS400 platform. Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications. Perform code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure application quality and performance. Optimize existing COBOL code for efficiency and scalability. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers. Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including analysis, design, development, testing, and implementation. Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in a timely manner. Stay up-to-date with the latest COBOL and AS400 technologies and best practices. Qualifications: 10 years of hands-on coding experience in COBOL AS400 and/or COBOL ILE. Strong experience working with ACMS/MOM. In-depth knowledge of DB2400. Expert-level proficiency in iSeries, COBOL, AS400 (Mid-Range), ILE, COBOL/400, CLLE, and SQL. Proven ability to analyze, design, and implement complex COBOL applications. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Healthcare domain experience is preferred. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Agile development methodologies.
