IRC teams provide health, infrastructure, learning and economicsupport to people in 40 countries worldwide. The IRC also provides support tothousands of refugees resettling in 29 U.S. cities each year through housingassistance, case management and referral services, job readiness and placement,English language training, community and cultural orientation, health andwellness programs, immigration services and other community integrationactivities.

SCOPE OFWORK: TheFinancial Coaching Intern will work within the Economic Empowerment Program to supportthe Financial Coaching Program. The Financial Coaching program provides groupand 1:1 financial coaching services to clients, including assistance withcreating budgets, addressing debt, building credit, increasing savings,accessing loans, opening bank accounts, and more. The Financial Coaching Intern'sresponsibilities may include contacting clients to schedule appointments,following up with clients on items such as loan payments and IOM status,assisting clients with loan applications, meeting with clients to completeprogram enrollments, teaching 1:1 or group financial literacy classes, anddeveloping curriculum. The Financial Coaching intern will also work with IRC Dallas'sEconomic Empowerment Program staff to ensure that clients are receiving assistanceacross these service areas.

LOCATION:Hybrid(in-person and remote) at our 6500 Greenville Ave location

Minimum Qualifications:

This is an unpaid positionTIME COMMITTEMENT: 15-20hours per week during IRC business hours (M-F, 9-5). Regular schedulepreferred. Minimum three-month commitment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:Meet with clients to completeenrollment requirements for the Financial Coaching ProgramWork with clients to complete adetailed financial assessmentWork with clients to create abudget and provide strategies for budget improvementsConduct follow up calls withclients to check in on program progress and ensure accurate and timelyrecording of dataDevelop plans of action andprovide tools, resources, and client accountability to help meet theirgoalsUnderstand other services offeredby the IRC, such as employment services and income supports counseling,and connect clients to these other servicesOutcome tracking-track thestories and successes of program participantsWilling to learn IRC datamanagement tools and documents used to track the outcome of clients'progress in an accurate and timely mannerWorks with the Financial Coachingteam to ensure that any changes to the client's financial circumstances(new job, new benefit, change in credit score) are properly documented

QUALIFICATIONS:A strong understanding orinterest in personal finances, particularly in the areas of budgeting,asset building, and credit buildingPrevious work experience in the financialsector preferred, but not requiredStrong communication skills, bothwritten and oralWilling to provide financialcounseling/coaching services in a culturally sensitive manner, as well asworking with diverse backgroundsBilingual language skills a plus,but not required
