Job Description

The primary duty of this role will be working to manage virtualization systems for a large-scale tactical navy network. This includes VMware, VxRail, Windows servers, network (route / switch) configurations, and vSphere in multiple enclaves.

PRIMARY DUTIES RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manages system uptime and availability for Windows servers in a VMware virtualized architectureConfigures, manages, and troubleshoots issuesHardware setup, design, troubleshooting, and supportApplies operating system, software patches, STIGs, and upgrades for Windows/VMware servers and workstationsWorks with team members to manage and troubleshoot route / switch, port, protocol, and network configuration information for servers and hosted applicationsDocuments, communicates and implements standardized processes and procedures for effective administration of servers and workstationsMaintains all DoDD 8140.01 Cyberspace Workforce Management qualifying criteria certifications, an active clearance, and all annual required trainingRequirements

MINIMUM SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree and 6+ years' experience with the installation, administration, upgrade, patching, sustainment, and other management of:

Route / Switch configurations, Cisco Enterprise / Data center networking, firewallsVMware vSphere, ESXi 6+Windows Operating SystemsComprehensive knowledge of the following:ESXi 6.7, 7.0 8.0Windows 2008 and aboveAD Domain components (DNS, Sites and Service, Group policy, DHCP)Assisting with VM deployment and migration.Managing vSphere and related hardware, vSANsPossess strong troubleshooting skills.CompTIA Security + (or higher) certification

DESIRED SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experienceAdvanced certifications, such as:

VMware: VCP, VCAP, or similarMicrosoft: MCSE, MCITP, or similarCisco: CCNA, CCNP, or similarLinux: RHCE, RHCSA, or similarExperience with any of the following technology is a plus:Virtual Cloud Foundation (VCF)vSANVxRailRHELScripting (PowerShell, any others)Citrix 7.15ForcePoint / Everfox TTCVeeamExchangeRubrikNSX-TVCFContainerizationOpenShift, Kubernetes

Experience with CI/CD processes
