Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced professional with 8 to 12 years of experience to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Python AWS Glue Studio AWS Glue ETL AWS Glue Catalog Amazon S3 and Apache Spark. This role involves designing and implementing robust data solutions that align with our company’s strategic goals and contribute to impactful projects.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable data architectures using AWS Glue Studio and AWS Glue ETL.
  • Develop and maintain data pipelines and workflows using Python and Apache Spark.
  • Oversee the integration of data from various sources into Amazon S3 and AWS Glue Catalog.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the development team on best practices for data engineering.
  • Ensure data quality and integrity by implementing robust validation and monitoring processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
  • Optimize data processing performance and cost-efficiency within the AWS ecosystem.
  • Lead the development of data models and schemas to support analytics and reporting.
  • Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure high-quality code standards.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in data engineering and cloud technologies.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data pipelines and workflows in a timely manner.
  • Document technical designs processes and procedures for future reference and knowledge sharing.
  • Participate in project planning and estimation activities to ensure timely delivery of data solutions.

Qualifications

  • Possess strong expertise in Python programming for data engineering tasks.
  • Have extensive experience with AWS Glue Studio AWS Glue ETL and AWS Glue Catalog.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in managing and optimizing data storage in Amazon S3.
  • Show advanced knowledge of Apache Spark for large-scale data processing.
  • Exhibit excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Have a proven track record of designing and implementing scalable data architectures.
  • Possess strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Show commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with industry trends.

Certifications Required

AWS Certified Solutions Architect AWS Certified Big Data - Specialty Certified Apache Spark Developer

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $100,000 – $ 135,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
