Mainframe Developer

Job Title: Mainframe Developer Location: Tampa, Florida(Onsite) Duration: 12 months Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer to join our team for a 12-month project in Tampa, Florida. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mainframe technologies and be responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of mainframe applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality deliverables and support the technical needs of the project. Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, CICS, and DB2. Perform application analysis, coding, testing, and debugging. Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to understand requirements and design solutions. Conduct unit testing and assist in system integration and user acceptance testing. Optimize and enhance existing applications to improve performance and scalability. Ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices. Document technical designs, processes, and application changes. Provide support for system implementations, including defect resolution and troubleshooting. Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members. Must-Have Skills: Mainframe Development Experience: Strong experience with COBOL, JCL, CICS, and DB2. Debugging and Performance Tuning: Proficiency in mainframe debugging tools and performance optimization techniques. Software Development Life Cycle: Experience in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, and deployment. Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities to troubleshoot issues and provide timely solutions. Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with business and technical teams. Nice-to-Have Skills: Agile Methodologies: Familiarity with Agile development practices. Enterprise vEnvironment Experience: Previous experience working in large enterprise settings. Automation Tools: Knowledge of automation tools used in mainframe environments. Cloud Integration: Understanding of cloud-based environments and how they integrate with mainframe systems.
