Permanent Hybrid 100-125k bonus DoE Must be US citizen or GC holder, sponsorship unavailable Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior AWS Cloud Engineer to lead the design, deployment, and management of our cloud and network environments. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in AWS cloud services, Linux and Windows administration, and general cloud engineering principles. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the security, scalability, and efficiency of our cloud infrastructure while providing expert guidance and support to our IT team. Key Responsibilities: Design & Architecture: Design and implement scalable, secure, and cost-effective AWS cloud architectures, including VPCs, subnets, security groups, and routing. Firewall Management: Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Palo Alto firewalls, including policy creation, threat management, and VPN setup. VPN Configuration: Implement and maintain site-to-site and client VPNs to provide secure remote access and connectivity. System Administration: Administer and support Linux (Ubuntu, RHEL) and Windows servers, including patch management, performance tuning, and security hardening. Infrastructure Automation: Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code using AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, and Ansible to automate deployments and manage cloud resources. Performance & Security: Monitor and optimize cloud performance using AWS CloudWatch and other monitoring tools; enforce network and data security best practices. Collaboration: Work closely with DevOps, development, and operations teams to integrate cloud solutions into CI/CD pipelines and application deployments. Troubleshooting: Provide expert troubleshooting and support for complex cloud, network, and system issues, ensuring rapid resolution and minimal downtime. Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for cloud architectures, network configurations, and system processes. Leadership: Mentor and guide junior engineers and other team members, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement. Requirements: Experience: 7 years of experience in AWS cloud engineering with a strong focus on network architecture, firewall management, and system administration. Certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional and AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional preferred; Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE) preferred. Skills: Advanced knowledge of AWS services (EC2, VPC, S3, RDS, Lambda, etc.), Palo Alto firewalls, VPN configurations, Linux administration (Ubuntu, RHEL), and Windows administration. Tools: Proficiency with Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes. Programming: Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, and familiarity with YAML/JSON. Monitoring: Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as CloudWatch and Splunk. Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to address complex network, cloud, and system issues effectively. Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams and presenting technical information clearly. Availability: Candidate expected to be in on-call rotation. Preferred Qualifications: Experience: Previous experience in a leadership or mentorship role within a technical team. Knowledge: Familiarity with regulatory compliance requirements and industry best practices related to cloud and network security. Palo Alto experience is a plus
