Travel Nurse RN - PCU in Prescott, AZ

Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: MS/Tele/PCU Float Pool Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Nights, Every Other Weekend, Must Work Christmas Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience License: Required to submit Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: At least 1 year in a PCU setting Job Description: - Float between MedSurg Tele and PCU across both campuses, including inpatient holding in ED. - East Campus features a dual occupancy 10-bed unit with ICU and stepdown patients. West Campus Stepdown has 14 dual occupancy rooms with an average census of 20. - West Med Tele unit has 95 beds, divided into 4 areas. MedSurg is organized into 10-room pods, each with dual occupancy. - Nurse-to-Patient Ratios: PCU 1:4, MedSurg Tele 1:5-6. - Handle common diagnoses including geriatric, ortho, post MI, post Cardiac Cath, and post-op CABG (day 3-4). - Required to titrate drips such as Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Insulin. - Charge nurses present in each unit; do not take patient assignments. - Nursing aides available in all settings. - Use RT Equipment such as CPAP, BiPAP, and Heated High flow. - Nurses must interpret monitoring strips; monitor techs support PCU and MedSurg Tele. - Schedule published 6 weeks out for a 4-week period; flexibility required with potential block scheduling for night shifts. - Every Other Weekend requirement; included in permanent staff rotation for holidays. - No call or standby requirement; unit assignments communicated via text message 2 hours before the shift starts. - Dress Code: Solid color professional scrubs, aligning with company guidelines. - Orientation: Includes 8-hour general hospital orientation and 12-hour shifts in MedTele and PCU.
