**Shift:**12-Hour Days, Minimum Every Other Weekend (up to 3 weekends per month), First to Float

**Guaranteed Hours:**36 hours per week

**Experience:**Minimum 3 years of recent ICU experience, including either neuro or cardiovascular experience

**License:**Current RN license required for submission

**Certifications:**ACLS, BLS, NIHSS

**Must-Have:**- Experience with titration of drips (Propofol, fentanyl, versed, precedex, morphine, dilaudid, ketamine, rocuronium, levophed, vasopressin, cardene, labetatol, dopamine, dobutamine, heparin, insulin)- Experience interpreting telemetry strips- Previous experience in similar ICU settings preferred, but not required- Passing of Dysrhythmia Exam required within 24-48 hours prior to acceptance (maximum of 2 attempts)

**Job Description:**- **Unit Notes:** Surgical ICU - Trauma Neuro Surgery (32 beds); medical/cardiac ICU (36 beds) and 12-bed overflow ICU- **Nurse-Patient Ratios:** 1:2, 1:1 as needed- **Common Diagnoses/Patients:** Level 1 trauma center cases, falls, gunshot wounds, blunt trauma, motor vehicle accidents, trauma over age 15. Surgeries include exploratory laparotomies, craniotomy, neuro surgeries, cardiovascular accidents, post-TPA, COVID-19, sepsis, and ARDS.- **Role Expectations:**- Self-scheduling with potential for manager adjustments- Float to telemetry with a 1:3 or 1:4 nurse-patient ratio as needed- Participation in pass/fail Sim Lab on Day 1 of orientation- Trainee will be the first to float when necessary- Additional validations for trauma, neuro, and specialty devices are required- **Weekend Requirements:** 3 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule. Dayshift weekends are Saturday-Sunday; Nightshift weekends are Friday-Saturday.- **Holiday Requirements:** May have one holiday off per assignment- **Work Environment:** No monitor technicians; RNs interpret their own strips. GE monitors used. Respiratory Therapists available in ICU 24/7.- **Dress Code:** Navy scrubs required- **Orientation:** 12 hours of orientation, department-specific for 1-2 days- **Cancellation Policy:** Hospital may cancel up to 3 times per contract, either full or partial shifts. In lieu of cancellation, full hours may be paid for particular shifts.- **Charting System:** Cerner system used for documentation
