Sentar is seeking a Software Configuration Manager (CM) team member in Huntsville, AL Role Description: The Software CM position supports the planning of future software build content and tracking of feature allocations among builds and applications to support the Payload Operations Integration Center (POIC) International Space Station (ISS) and Space Launch System (SLS) mission ground systems hosted in the Huntsville Operations Support Center (HOSC). The position also supports multiple teams is responsible for supporting Flight operations with ground support systems for ISS, SLS, and the new Artemis Moon to Mars missions like the Lunar Gateway (LGW), Human Landing System (HLS), Extravehicular Activity and Human Surface Mobility (EHP) and a Lunar Habitat Base that seek to sustain a lunar presence and enable human exploration of Mars. Relevant ongoing modernization plans include migration from IBM ClearCase to GitLab software repository that automates Kubernetes containers provided by a new HOSC OpenShift cluster and a robust DevSecOps pipeline. This new platform was started in 2023, fielded to production in 2024 and is ready to enable architecture and software CM modernization starting in 2025. There will be a transition period that will use both software repositories. This is a rare opportunity to be part of history and to use and expand valuable technical skills to transform scientific efforts related with human exploration of our solar system. Tasks: Support planning of COTS upgrades (e.g., OS, database, compilers, applications). Manage and release software builds following the MOSSI documented process. Assist System Admins in VOB maintenance. Coordinate software builds being developed by several software teams to determine software content and drop dates for formal testing. Ensure that build activities are planned and executed to support planned releases. Debug issues with builds. Maintain Development Test Environment Resources and user evaluation systems. Complete build closeout activities and create build closeout reports. Lead/support integration meetings with software engineers and formal test engineers to coordinate build completion and test-handover activities. Work with Data Management function to keep the software development information database up to date, which is a central information repository to keep the software and test groups in synch. Track software development activities and artifacts for in-process builds and help ensure that process steps and artifact preparation are taking place as expected. Identify interdependencies with other project groups and help resolve issues. Identify, propose, and support the implementation of process improvements. This includes improving the use of new tools (e.g., GitLab, etc.). Lead meetings to categorize, prioritize, and allocate software problem reports and identified software security vulnerabilities to software builds. Maintain and collect software metrics as determined by the software manager. Perform builds. Manage ClearCase and branches. Make sure all the builds are reproducible. Qualifications: Clearance Level: N/A Education: N/A Experience: Three (3) years of configuration management experience is considered a minimum. Understanding configuration management concepts and processes is considered essential. Experience with ClearCase is considered valuable. Experience with GitLab is considered valuable.
