Role Description
Wiser is looking for qualified candidates with a basic understanding of geographic information systems (GIS). Comprehensive training is provided on the software, GIS, and source materials needed to complete the work. Apprentices work as a team to collect, maintain, analyze, and interpret geographic information as needed for our clients.
Responsibilities
Perform digital feature extraction from multiple data sources
Attribute digital data accurately
Understand and follow project specific guidance
Independently use technical resource and guidance documents
Clean geographic data errors and omissions
Apply cartographic editing techniques to include feature displacement, thinning, symbolization, and annotation
Suggest and implement improved work methods
Minimum Qualifications
U.S. Citizen
Basic familiarity with ArcGIS or GIS software.
Workspace which is suitable for remote work with high-speed internet and multiple monitors. A laptop will be provided.
Ability to self-lead using customer guidance
Ability to meet production deadlines with minimal errors
Ability to communicate with a diverse team of people
Work Environment
Work is performed remotely, Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week (8 hours per day).
