SUMMARY We are seeking a Technical Lead (Software Development) who provides technical leadership and direction for product development teams. The Technical Lead provides direction and guidance for development projects and ensures all projects meet the highest quality standards and follow company best practices. This role demonstrates and facilitates creative thinking to provide innovative solutions to complex development challenges. This position leads teamwork and motivates team members as a vital component in reaching goals. This role serves as a vital source of domain knowledge, front-end and backend functionality knowledge along with strong communication and support among designated product lines. This position continues to learn and 'spots' problems quickly. The Technical Lead (Software Development) position acts as a bridge among Development, Quality Assurance and Product Management in fostering a team-base approach that delivers high quality software. The role is accountable and trustworthy with the ability to build long-term relationships. BASE WORK LOCATION - Position is based at Gulfstream Park, 901 S. Federal Hwy, Hallandale Beach, FL 33009. Position classification is on-site "IN OFFICE". RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES Monitors and audits processes and performance of the team in relation to skills and capabilities Works with the teams to enhance and refine feature requests. Coordinates with teams to set schedules and team working agreements. Collaborates with multiple teams to ensure that feature enhancements are well defined and cross-team dependencies are addressed. Provides hands-on coaching, support and training to development staff. Is an active senior level developer on the team Advises and manages external outsourcing for workforce planning on an as needed basis. Provides day-to-day production support for systems, as needed. Works with third-party vendors to implement functionality and maintain relationships. Communicates plans and prepares leaders to communicate within department structures. Performs other duties as assigned. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent work experience 5 years of experience in Software Development 2 years of experience as a Software Development Lead or Manager Provide technical direction and guidance for development projects Experience working on all aspects of Software Development, including Requirements, Design, Development, Testing, UAT, Deployment, and End User production Support. Excellent skills in collaboration, communication and working well with teams across the organization. Proficient with cross-functional collaboration - strong in forging relationships across groups and driving buy-in and commitment towards solutions that may be challenging or new. Self-starter, self-motivator, detail-oriented, highly organized. Motivated to excel, competitive in nature and does not confuse "efforts" with "results". Strong change leader and relationship builder. Confident and capable of engaging in positive, driven and motivating dialogue with department team members, employees and stakeholders. Ability to work on a team and as an individual contributor while providing mentorship and guidance to team members. Entrepreneurial, ambitious (takes initiative and personal ownership/accountability) and strong 'integrator' (innately knows when to share information and/or to bring parties/business units together). Individual must be open to learn about and understand 'niche' industry. Demonstrates and maintains flexibility and adapts to changes within industry and company. Preferred Experience and/or Education: Knowledgeable in technology, horse racing, pari-mutuel wagering, gaming, sports wagering and/or experience in a start-up environment OTHER INFORMATION: This position does not have supervisory/management responsibilities. This position works closely with Development Management advising on skill sets needed to execute projects and advising on overall team capabilities and performance. This position is empowered to take initiative with applicable duties/projects. Compensation is commensurate with experience and includes a competitive base compensation and bonus opportunity.
