This individual is tasked with patrolling the campus, responding to safety and security threats, and establishing a security presence when needed. Hours of the position will be from 1:30p.m.-10:00p.m.Role & ResponsibilitiesWatch and patrol grounds and buildings, on foot and in vehicle, to protect against damage, theft, or harm caused by intrudersEnsure building and grounds securityAssist with any and all carpoolsRegulate vehicle traffic, place traffic cones, and maintain orderly flow and controlEnsure pedestrian safety at school crosswaysComplete all jobs in a timely mannerBe aware of noise in and around classrooms and buildingExamine doors, windows, and gates to determine they are secureRespond quickly and effectively to security violations and reports of security violationsRespond quickly to emergency situations by safely directing people and coordinating with the emergency response teamConduct and/or assist in security investigationsInvestigate and report on-campus incidentsComplete a minimum of three security tours per shiftMaintain attendance and punctuality expectationsBe aware of vendors schedules and escort vendors/contractors when necessarySecurity at Special EventsProvide a visible presence at all special events and functionsCheck logbook/calendar for events dailySecure doors in school buildings and gates as necessaryProvide traffic direction and parking controlOperation of School VehiclesCheck the condition of the vehicle prior to drivingReport mechanical problems or damage to DirectorFuel and maintain vehicles as neededRequirements

Minimum of two years of security experienceExperience with emergency response procedures and protocolsTechnical proficiency in utilizing online platforms, Google apps such as email, calendar, and docsStrong interpersonal and communication skills with community stakeholders of all agesAble to work overtime for after-hour events, when necessaryPossess the cognitive skills necessary to perform job dutiesPossess proficient oral and written communication skillsMust be able to maintain a positive and helpful attitude in stressful situationsPhysical RequirementsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
