Computer Numerical Control Programmer

DescriptionPrimus Aerospace is a leading manufacturing partner to aerospace, defense & space OEMs / Primes & Tier I suppliers. The company specializes in producing high-tolerance, complex geometry parts; machined out of standard and exotic metals. Primus works directly with all major aerospace manufacturers (e.g., Boeing, Lockheed, Northrop) to provide components to mission critical civilian and defense programs.Job Purpose:The CNC Programmer works to meet established standards of productivity and quality and will serve as a CNC Programmer for all jobs completed within the work cell. Responsible for interpreting blueprints, designing programs, and setting up machines to produce the components outlined in the program. Participate in maintaining, debugging, and troubleshooting to ensure that everything is running smoothly. This is a hands on programming role and will work very closely with our machinists.Key ResponsibilitiesFixture design and creation.Tooling selectionCreate setup sheets and work instructions to hand off programs to operators for production.Responsible for creating In Process Inspection Criteria (IPIC)Manage daily production activities for assigned team, including machine programming for 3, 4 and 5 Axis Mills and CNC LathesOwnership over assigned equipment as well as the teams (set-up machinists, operators, and deburr staff) daily job functions, responsibilities, fixtures, work instructions, team development, workflow and prioritiesMust be able to work collaboratively and safely in a lean environment with cross-functional teams and varying levels of experience, including Engineering, Quality, Production, Deburr and Project ManagersMust have solid understanding of quality standards and GD&T as it applies in an aerospace & defense environmentTime management, team building, detail oriented and accurate execution of the CNC Mill / Lathe programming for both NPI and legacy repeat work.Maintain or improve legacy part quality standards and cycle times with process improvements in accordance with customer and company manufacturing standards, delivery commitments, internal procedures, and protocolsRequirements5+ years of experience programming CNC Mills and Lathes.Experience with CNC Lathe, Mill Turn, and 3- and 5- axis milling machines.Proficient in Mastercam 2020.Experience programming offline.Proven cycle time reduction and program optimization.Ability to identify training needs, tooling recommendations, fixture design and implement best machining practices.G-code familiarity.Familiarity with multiple types of material; emphasis: titanium, Inconel, and other exotic alloys.Thorough knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and quality standards as it applies to an aerospace and defense environment.Strong ability to meet deadlines and achieve goals driven by metrics.Willingness to work collaboratively within a team environment.Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to work independently with limited supervision.Solutions focused, detail oriented, strong work ethicOur work environment is fast-paced and professional while providing continued growth fostered by our commitment to teamwork.We offer comprehensive benefits including:PTO10 paid holidaysMedical, Dental, Vision, Short- and Long-term disability insurance401K matchLong and short-term incentive planBenefits start 1st of the month after date of hireIMPORTANT NOTICE:To adhere to U.S. Government international trade regulations, applicant must be a U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State or U.S. Department of Commerce.At Primus Aerospace, we are proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
