We have an exciting opportunity near Rock Valley, Iowa, in a hospital setting, offering a full-time schedule with flexible coverage options. This position provides a great opportunity to apply your anesthesiology skills, particularly in cardiac cases, while enjoying the charm of the Midwest.Position Overview:
Start Date : Mid-December 2024 (temporary privileges can be issued for a quick start)Schedule :
Monday to Friday: 6:00 AM - 3:00 PM, with occasional weekday call from 3:00 PM - 6:00 AMWeekend call rotation, with one provider on-call each weekendCall ratio of 1:5
First Call: Home-based after cases are finished; may return for additional cases or central line proceduresSecond Call: Backup for non-cardiac cases, with the possibility of staying lateKey Responsibilities:
Supervise experienced CRNAs, with nearly 100% supervision requiredProvide anesthesia for various procedures, including:
General surgical cases (adult and pediatric)Minor nerve blocks, regional and plexus anesthesiaOpen-heart, thoracic, and complex vascular and orthopedic casesEpidural, spinal, and neurosurgical anesthesia
Perform pain management procedures for acute conditionsInsert and manage central lines, arterial lines, and PA cathetersManage ventilation and acute volume/BP issuesRequirements:
Board-certified in AnesthesiologyActive Iowa license or IMLC eligibility (candidates without a current license will not be considered)Strong cardiac anesthesia experience, able to perform heart cases independentlyAvailability for full-time coverage starting as soon as credentialedCOVID vaccination status required at the time of submissionPractice Setting : Hospital-based, with a focus on surgical services in a Level 2 Trauma CenterTeam Structure : A group of 5 anesthesiologists when fully staffed, seeking 2 more due to retirementsOperating Rooms : 12 ORs with an average of 13 surgical cases per dayEMR : Cerner PowerChartPatient Demographic : Primarily adult/geriatric patientsCredentialing Timeframe : Approximately 60 daysPerks and Compensation:
