Region.GW Hospital achieved "High Performing" status in two specialty areas, Neurology and Neuroscience, and received "High Performing" designations for the following procedures: COPD, Diabetes, Heart Attack, Heart Failure, Kidney Failure, Leukemia, Lymphoma and Myeloma, Lung Cancer Surgery, Pneumonia, Prostate Cancer Surgery, and Stroke.The Oncology Clinical Pharmacist Specialist specializing in chemotherapy manages chemotherapy review and compounding with the support of the Oncology physician(s), faculty, and house staff physicians. The specialist provides comprehensive pharmaceutical care through integrated drug distribution, patient counseling, and teaching. Responsibilities include processing orders for chemotherapy medications, monitoring patients' drug therapies, and providing drug information.The Oncology Clinical Pharmacist supervises and directs supportive staff and advises physicians on matters pertaining to drug usage and control within assigned hospital locations. Qualifications

Education/QualificationDoctor of Pharmacy Degree (Pharm.D.) requiredLicensed (or eligible for licensure) to practice in the District of ColumbiaCompleted a Pharmacy Practice Residency (or equivalent) (preferred)Completed a specialized clinical residency/fellowship in Oncology (preferred)BPS Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist (preferred)Effective communication skills, both verbal and writtenEffective interpersonal skillsAbility to maintain confidentialityAbility to adapt to multiple and changing prioritiesKnowledgeable of and complies with laws, rules, and regulations that govern the practice of pharmacyPyxis experience with knowledge of Pyxis Reports (i.e., optimization, load/unload, nursing narcotic access, etc.)Ability to use Cerner, Microsoft Excel, PowerPointSome travel, to follow-up with Corporate, Financial, GPO, Compliance, and Pyxis issuesAbout Universal Health ServicesOne of the nation's largest and most respected providers of hospital and healthcare services, Universal Health Services, Inc.
