Job Overview:
The Director of Sales is responsible for leading the sales team, developing and executing sales strategies, and driving revenue growth. This role involves setting sales targets, managing key customer relationships, and identifying new business opportunities. The Director of Sales works closely with the executive team and Senior Advisors to align sales objectives with the company’s overall goals and ensures that the sales team is equipped to meet and exceed performance expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy and Planning:
Develop and implement effective sales strategies to drive business growth.
Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity to adjust sales tactics as needed.
Set clear, achievable sales targets and quotas for the sales team.
Team Leadership and Development:
Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales team to achieve sales targets and goals.
Conduct performance evaluations, provide coaching, and support professional growth within the team.
Recruit, onboard, and train new sales staff as needed.
Customer Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders.
Oversee the management of existing accounts and the acquisition of new clients.
Handle high-level negotiations and close deals with major customers.
Revenue Growth:
Identify new market opportunities and areas for expansion.
Develop and implement strategies to increase sales revenue and market share.
Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics, adjusting strategies as necessary to meet targets.
Collaboration and Cross-Functional Leadership:
Work closely with Senior Advisors, marketing, and other departments to ensure alignment of sales strategies with business objectives.
Collaborate with the executive team to set overall company goals and contribute to long-term strategic planning.
Provide feedback to product teams on market trends and customer needs.
Sales Operations and Reporting:
Oversee the sales pipeline and ensure the accuracy of sales forecasts and reports.
Implement and optimize sales processes, tools, and CRM systems to improve efficiency.
Report on sales performance to the executive team and recommend improvements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
Proven experience as a Director of Sales, Sales Manager, or in a senior sales leadership role.
Strong track record of driving sales growth and achieving targets.
Excellent leadership, team management, and communication skills.
In-depth knowledge of sales principles, techniques, and market dynamics.
Experience with CRM software and sales performance metrics.
Strong negotiation, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
