Job Description & Requirements Specialty: PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care Discipline: RN Start Date: 10/28/2024 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours Employment Type: Travel Job Opportunities Epic Travel Staffing is hiring a Travel RN - Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool Shift : Variable or straight Nights / 12x3, 36 hrs per week Length : 13 weeks (4-5 weekend shifts sat-sun on day shift and then 5-6 shifts of fri-sat nights – traveler gets off one full weekend every 4 week schedule) Must work 2 out of the 3 holidays Requirements : CA license 2 full recent years of Pediatric ICU experience (PICU, CTICU, CRITICAL CARE FLOAT POOL) Pediatric ICU experience Experience: Ventilators, trachs, multiple monitoring skills, specifically CVP and EKG BLS PALS Others: Patient Population: High acuity unit seeing injury, respiratory failure, shock, multi system failure, poisonings, near drowning, meningitis, post op cardiac surgical care, neurosurgery. Trauma, hem onc, DKA if PH or altered consciousness For travelers with PICU experience - 15 bed minimum and higher acuity of care across ALL PICU/ICU areas Traveler must be willing to get flu shot when requested Will care for all age ranges and levels of acuity This is a Critical Care Float Pool position First to float to other units outside of the critical care units, including ED COVID-19 Vaccine (Facility Guideline):Not Required Flu Vaccine (Facility Guideline):Unknown THIS IS A CRITICAL CARE FLOAT POOL POSITION – PEDIATRIC ICU EXPERIENCE REQUIREDTraveler must be willing to get flu shot when requestedRequired:• CA License• First to float to other units outside of the critical care units, including ED• Will care for all age ranges and levels of acuity• BLS• PALS• 2 full recent years of Pediatric ICU experience (PICU, CTICU, CRITICAL CARE FLOAT POOL)for travelers with PICU exp - 15 bed minimum and higher acuity of care across ALL PICU/ICU areas• Experience: Ventilators, trachs, multiple monitoring skills, specifically CVP and EKG.Shifts:• 3x12 variable or straight night• (4-5 weekend shifts sat-sun on day shift and then 5-6 shifts of fri-sat nights – traveler gets off one full weekend every 4 week schedule)• 13 week contractsRequested Time Off:Max 6 days (Must still get 3 shifts in per week)Must work 2 out of the 3 holidaysPatient Population: High acuity unit seeing injury, respiratory failure, shock, multi system failure, poisonings, near drowning, meningitis, post op cardiac surgical care, neurosurgery.
