What We Are Looking For: System Engineer will provide leadership for designing, implementing, and maintaining the information technology systems for PSE. Generate new ideas and solutions based on intuition and pattern recognition. Highly effective in solving problems with practical methodologies while serving the unique needs of others. What You Will Be Doing: Core Values: Embrace, uphold, and live out PSE’s core values around People, Problem-Solving, and Progress Assessing systems, determining problems, and providing solutions to issues that arise Designing, upgrading, and maintaining systems. Brainstorming possible future system improvements. Speaking to and collaborating with various people, such as management, vendors, other team members, and the executive committee. Creating control features to ensure systems effectively meet PSE’s quality standards. Engaging in quality control procedures to ensure that systems are efficient and operational. Developing a cost-efficient system for projects by performing a cost-benefit analysis. Ensuring that PSE operates at maximum efficiency with 95% system accessibility. Provide Tier II & III Support to the Service Desk What You Will Need: Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering plus 2 to 4 years of experience, or relevant certifications plus 2 to 4 years of experience, or 4 to 6 years of experience in the field. Proven working experience in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Microsoft environments. Solid experience in the administration and performance tuning of application stacks (e.g.). Solid Cloud experience multi-cloud – Azure, AWS, Google Experience with virtualization-primarily Hyper-V Experience with monitoring systems. Experience with automation software Solid scripting skills: PowerShell, Python, BASH Solid networking knowledge (OSI network layers, TCP/IP) Linux Experience a plus Knowledge and Skills Creativity and innovation in finding effective new solutions and designs. Logic and reasoning to effectively troubleshoot complex issues. Ability to develop solutions to problems. Ability to manage multiple issues simultaneously. Understanding and appropriately responding to feedback. Excellent oral and written communication skills are vital to relay important information. Ability to engage in healthy constructive conflict to reach beneficial outcomes.
