What You’ll Be Doing
As a member of the Global Diversified Industries (fka Consumer, Industrials, and Technology) team, you’ll support the continued growth of CIBC’s US Investment Banking platform. As an Analyst, you will support senior bankers with the industry coverage, strategic advisory, and deal execution required to help our clients succeed. In addition to working with the Global Diversified Group the Analyst will always gain experience collaborating with other teams across CIBC including CIBC Cleary Gull, Debt Capital Markets and Equity Capital Markets to perform day to day responsibilities. How You’ll Succeed
Assist in developing proposals to clients and potential clients for equity and debt placements, mergers, asset divestitures or acquisitions, and other financial products and advisory services
Conduct industry research and analysis to assist in the identification and/or analysis of investment banking business opportunities
Participate in cross functional teams and liaising with other units of CIBC Capital Markets in executing mandates or preparing proposals for clients
Organize presentations to potential clients, assisting in the development of presentation information
Lead comparable company and transaction precedent analyses
Develop and maintain sophisticated financial models
Assist in company due diligence investigations
Demonstrate job commitment including a willingness to work, as well as personal flexibility and adaptability in order to meet client deliverables and timelines
Who You Are
Education. You have an undergraduate degree in Business or Economics with a strong understanding of finance and accounting concepts
Previous Experience. You have 1+ years of experience in a relevant field (investment banking, consulting, accounting)
Technical skills, experience, programs. You can demonstrate previous investment banking/private equity/corporate finance experience. It is an asset if you have completed or plan to complete the Securities Industry Essentials Exam
