Job Description

As a Patient Care Assistant (Nursing Assistant) you will work under the direction of a Registered Nurse to assist in delivery of patient care including personal hygiene and daily activities transporting patients and equipment, setting up and maintaining patient rooms, and reordering/stocking of supplies. Responsible for coordination of communications and procedures for the nursing unit, process electronic orders and assembling patient's charts and other necessities.

Work Schedule:

28 hrs weekly / .7 FTE Nights 11pm - 7:30 pm, every other weekend

Required Qualifications:Must have one of the following:

High school diploma or equivalentHS Diploma in progress and Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant RegistryEquivalent work experience in lieu of HS diploma or equivalent may be considered

Current BLS - American Heart Association or BLS - American Red Cross (CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer & Health Care Provider)Six (6) months experience in healthcare setting OR Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant RegistryMust have strong organizational, multi-tasking, and communication skills with a customer-service orientation.Strong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to follow written and verbal instructions.Demonstrates basic computers skills or the ability to achieve proficiency within 3 months.Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with patients, visitors, and co-workers.Ability to independently initiate appropriate tasks within the scope of practice of the position.Ability to provide individualized care and respond to a variety of patient/family preferences.Ability to provide an exceptional patient experience utilizing strong customer service skills.Ability to set priorities and manage time effectively.Preferred Qualifications:

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) on the MN Nursing Assistant RegistryMicrosoft office experiencePrior experience in acute care or hospital settingKnowledge of pre and post-op surgical/orthopedic and general medical patientsKnowledge and care in the use of all specialized orthopedic equipmentKnowledge of routine order sets in Epic
