Full-TimeAbout the Role:Our client, a prominent accounting firm in Savannah, is looking for an experienced
Tax Manager
to join their team. This role requires a skilled professional who can lead tax compliance and consulting engagements with a focus on S-Corporations, C-Corporations, partnerships, multistate, and individual tax returns. As a Tax Manager, you will leverage your expertise to oversee complex tax projects, guide and mentor junior staff, and serve as a primary point of contact for clients on various engagements. Oversee the preparation and review of complex tax returns, including S-Corporations, C-Corporations, partnerships, and individual returns.First-Level Review:
Perform a detailed first-review on returns prepared by Staff and Senior Associates, ensuring accuracy and adherence to compliance standards.Tax Projections & Estimates:
Develop and review income tax projections and estimates for clients to aid in their financial planning.Technical Research & Memoranda:
Conduct tax research and prepare technical memoranda on complex issues, effectively communicating findings in a clear, readable format.Client & Team Interaction:
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients and internal teams, offering expertise and strategic insights on tax matters.Mentorship & Development:
Mentor Staff and Interns, providing guidance on tax issues, feedback on return preparation, and professional growth opportunities.Compliance & Notices:
Communicate with federal and state authorities as needed, handling notices and inquiries with professionalism.Specialization & Expertise:
Continuously develop skills and expertise in specific tax areas, contributing to the firm’s overall knowledge base.Project Management:
Maintain open communication with management regarding project progress, ensuring timely and accurate completion of assignments.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Master’s degree in Taxation preferred.CPA certification
(active or in progress) required.4+ years of tax experience
in a public accounting firm or equivalent.Advanced knowledge of
Federal and State income tax laws
and principles applicable to individual and business taxation.Proven
time management and organizational skills
with the ability to prioritize multiple projects effectively.Exceptional
communication skills —both verbal and written—with an emphasis on clarity and professionalism.A strong commitment to
client service excellence
and a proactive approach to tax issues.
