Job Summary
The Senior Engineering position provides the successful candidate with an immediate opportunity to be involved with a company the manufactures life altering medical devices. Medline is a fast paced medical company with a large global footprint that offers fantastic growth opportunities for its employees. As a division of Medline, the Namic site manufactures fluid delivery devices for Angiographic and Cardiatric procedures as well as a vast array of custom kits. As part of the Engineering department, you will be part of team of approximately 30, consisting of Technicians and Engineers assigned to different areas of operations. The Engineering team works in close collaboration with the Quality, Planning, and Sourcing departments to stay aligned with the most critical needs of the business.
The Senior Engineering position will plan, organize and control productivity projects from conceptual stages through production cycles in order to optimize profit and meet marketing, financial, and corporate growth objectives. Investigate current operations practices to scope, develop and implement changes that will improve operational productivity, safety, quality, or capacity.
Job Description
Support ways to increase operational productivity.
Design and develop automation solutions to optimize production and facility operations.
Implement and program control systems to automate processes.
Provide technical support for design and procurement.
Provide support to the production group by: Resolving process related issues as they arise, Assisting in training of production personnel, and Monitoring production lines for potential process improvements while suggesting/implementing changes as necessary.
Provide technical support to others within the organization on an as-needed basis.
Prepare, perform and conduct validation protocols and reports for new or existing processes. Ensure that new products meet the strict quality and performance standards set by the division (i.e. burst testing & tensile tests).
Perform complex assignments to develop new and/or enhance existing procedures, statistical analysis, inspections, and validation activities. Contribute to the organization's process improvement activities.
Lead and/or support Structured Problem Solving to remedy issues in production that are impacting critical business metrics.
Analyze costs related to capital expenditures for processes to determine breakeven points, payback and associated hard and soft savings.
Conduct training, when appropriate, on quality assurance and/or engineering concepts and tools, including but not limited to inspection, measurement, test methods, and comprehensive equipment operation procedures.
Subject matter expert associated with content, processes, and procedures. Apply functional knowledge to the design and customization of workflow systems that provide seamless integration. Write functional requirements, develop test plans and work with production issues.
Provide specialized expertise to the company through project, account and people management.
Establishes and assures adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans, and project performance.
Identify and lead operational excellence projects with focused elements such as: Lean, quality enhancement, and Six Sigma.
Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline (Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Chemical Engineering).
At least 5-7 years of experience in manufacturing/engineering environment.
Additional
Excellent skill levels in technical writing, research paper writing, and/or experimental design.
Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing methods to identify opportunities and implement improvements in manufacturing processes.
Strong knowledge and experience with problem solving/troubleshooting for root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Ability to design and read electrical and pneumatic schematics.
Experience working with PLC’s, HMI’s and Servo Motors.
Exceptional interpersonal skills and an effective communicator.
Self-driven with strong project management and organizational skills.
Broad understanding of business systems, organizational culture and behaviors.
Working knowledge of environmental, health, safety and quality regulations.
Desired Software Experience: Microsoft Excel (advanced), Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Project or Smartsheet, SolidWorks or other CAD program.
Basic AS400 or ERP systems knowledge.
PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS
CAD experience (SolidWorks).
At least 3 years of experience within a medical manufacturing environment.
Capital project execution and management.
Experience in machine and system controls design.
Experience developing control systems programs for Allen Bradley PLC’s, HMI’s and Servo Drives.
Green Belt Certified or practical application of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma.

The anticipated salary range for this position:
$87,360.00 - $131,040.00 Annual
This salary range is an estimate and the actual salary will vary based on applicant’s location, education, experience, skills, and abilities. This role is bonus and/or incentive eligible. Medline will not pay less than the applicable minimum wage or salary threshold.
