Builder Finance Inc. (BFI) is the growing lender to homebuilders and housing investors. Launched in 2014, BFI now has multiple, coast-to-coast lending programs.
The Loan Syndications Officer will help build and maintain relationships with clients that purchase interests in BFI loans. This position will play a critical role in enhancing business productivity and reducing single counterparty risk exposures.
The role requires strong interpersonal skills.The Loan Syndications Officer is given substantial responsibility to help build new relationships, primarily with banks and other regulated institutions.In addition to potential “warm” introductions, this role should expect to make cold calls.
This position is expected to advocate for BFI loans. Good credit judgment and relative value knowledge are required. The Loan Syndication Officer is expected to become versed in how BFI operates and stay up-to-date on BFI originations and performance.
Client service is a top priority. The schedule of the Loan Syndications Officer should be flexible so as to accommodate client coverage during non-standard working hours.
Within the first year of employment, a successful hire will facilitate at least $20 million of loan sales.Compensation includes a market salary plus a success-based bonus component.
Job Overview:
Develop and execute calling strategies
Work with team members to develop marketing materials
Perform due diligence on potential counterparties
Coordinate due diligence by potential counterparties
Monitor processes throughout the transaction cycle and help to optimize processes
Manage and report on risks
Help ensure strict adherence to internal control policies, ensuring activities are carried out in accordance with all regulatory, legal, and governmental regulations as well as BFI’s own internal procedures
Maintain detailed CRM records
Facilitate individual loan sale transactions
Research and answer client questions
Qualifications:
Have track record of loan syndication
Have existing relationships with potential clients
Know best practices, loan structures, legal agreements, LSTA market standards, and general accounting rules.
Work independently but know when to ask for help
Possess excellent presentation skills and ability to create and maintain good relationships with clients
Enjoy a results-oriented organization, centered on clients
Be skilled in Microsoft Office software, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint
