Job Description

The Senior Budget Financial Applications Analyst reports to the Assistant Director, Budget Analytics and LRFP Systems and is a professional member of the University’s Central Budget Office. This position has responsibilities that support report design and maintenance as well as analytics, research, and training. In addition, the Senior Analyst provides financial and technical support for the Operations, Systems and Planning functional areas of the Budget department, as well as the entire Finance division, and other University colleagues through applications such as PeopleSoft Financials & HR, Cognos TM1 and Cognos BI. The position requires a demonstrated knowledge of business modeling and business analysis to assist with the development and maintenance of the University’s Cost Allocation report which is presented annually to the Finance & Audit Committee of the Board of Trustees. The Senior Analyst will also support the Assistant Director in creating and maintaining standard and ad hoc Budget reports as well as reports requested by Finance and Executive VP areas of the University.

Full-Time Equivalent Hiring Range: $77,800 to $97,250; salary commensurate with relevant experience.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required and five years of related experience.

Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications; advanced Excel skills strongly desired.

Experience with reporting/query tools required, with People Soft Financials, Cognos TM1 and BI applications specifically desirable.

Must possess the ability to assimilate and apply new technologies.

Knowledge of general budgeting and accounting principles required to be able to assist with the Annual Budget Development, 5-Year Long-Range Plan, and allocation analytics.

Excellent communication and presentation skills with a strong customer service orientation necessary to provide training on reporting tools and to troubleshoot system issues.
