Database Administrator II

We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, optimize, and map data integration across multiple platforms. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and optimizing a full data integration map illustrating data flow between our core applications, including Epicor Kinetic, Salesforce, Optimizely, and Dayforce HCM. This role requires a strong understanding of current data processes and the vision to optimize data flows for AI integration, ensuring future scalability and efficiency. This position reports to the
Data Optimization Manager
and has a starting salary of
$90,000-$110,000.
Key Responsibilities
Database Management:
Administer, maintain, and support multiple databases to ensure availability, security, and performance.Perform regular database backups, recovery, and restoration processes to protect data integrity.Data Integration:
Assist in data migration projects, ensuring data integrity and accuracy during the transfer process between systems.Support ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, ensuring seamless data integration and management.Develop and maintain a full data integration map across all core applications.Performance Tuning & Optimization:
Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement tuning recommendations to enhance query performance and system efficiency.Conduct regular database audits and analyze metrics to optimize database performance.Optimize data flow and performance across systems.Monitor and enhance database performance, ensuring speed and reliability of data access.Database Security & Compliance:
Implement and manage security measures, including user roles, privileges, and encryption, to safeguard sensitive data.Ensure databases comply with organizational security policies and data protection regulations.Ensure data security and compliance across all servers and applications.Database Design & Implementation:
Assist in the design, implementation, validation, and maintenance of new databases or modifications to existing databases to support evolving business needs.Participate in database capacity planning, monitoring growth trends, and making scaling recommendations.Identify and optimize the physical location of servers to reduce latency and improve data flow efficiency.Implement data backup, recovery, and high-availability strategies to ensure minimal downtime.Keep up to date with emerging data technologies and suggest improvements to the current system infrastructure.Automation & Scripting:
Develop and maintain scripts for automating routine database maintenance tasks, backups, and monitoring.Utilize tools like SQL scripts, PowerShell, or Python to streamline database operations and improve efficiency.Troubleshooting & Support:
Provide 2nd and 3rd level support for database-related issues, troubleshooting and resolving performance, connection, and data integrity problems.Collaborate with application developers and IT staff to resolve database and system performance issues.Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, processes, and troubleshooting steps.Generate regular reports on database performance, health, and any incidents or outages for IT leadership.Collaboration & Communication:
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including software developers, network engineers, and business analysts, to support database-related projects.Communicate complex technical issues and solutions to non-technical stakeholders clearly and effectively.Other
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align data processes with organizational goals.Anticipate AI-driven data integration needs and prepare data architecture accordingly.Travel to Durango, CO and other sites is required ~10% of the timeRequirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.2-5 years of proven experience as a DBA, with expertise in creating data flow maps and integration strategies.Knowledgeable about high-availability Microsoft's SQL configurations (clustering, mirroring, replication)Familiarity with industry-standard database monitoring and tuning applicationsIn-depth knowledge of database systems (Microsoft's SQL, NoSQL), ERP systems, and cloud-based data architecture (Azure, AWS, GCP, and other cloud providers).Experience working with platforms such as Epicor Kinetic, Salesforce, Optimizely, Dayforce HCM, and other related business applications is a plus.Strong understanding of AI data readiness and optimization strategies for future data integration needs.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Ability to collaborate across departments and communicate technical data requirements to non-technical stakeholders.Include familiarity with industry-standard security practices for databasesExperience with server optimization for data speed and efficient flow.Occasional weekend or afterhours work possible (not preferred)Preferred Skills:
