**Job Summary** The Computer Support Technician provides support to distributed PC/networking environment including installation, testing, repair, and troubleshooting for stand-alone PCs, PCs linked to networks, printers, and other computer peripherals. **Principal Accountabilities** + Support responsibilities include software installation, and configurations. This technician performs technical, operational, and training support to users of personal computers either by telephone, or on-site for PC desktop hardware and software packages. + Job duties require the technician to install and test personal computers, printers, and other peripherals, configure operating system, load shrink-wrap programs and other application software programs. + In this position, the incumbent troubleshoots computer problems, performs hardware and software diagnostics, coordinates needed repairs, resolves computer system problems, including coordination between users and components of a local area network, and participates in the evaluation of system configuration and software. + Perform unit software management (inventories, remove unauthorized software) + Perform configuration (workstations, printer servers, software, operating systems) + Process systems requirements (coordinate/validate user requirements) + Provide software assistance (inquiries, e-mail group maintenance, dial-up networking, Dame Ware VNC) + Manage individual user accounts (adds/removes mail and domain users) + Manage system security (software patches, accreditation assistance) + Manage disk (formats/partitions hard disk, optimize storage) + Manage file system (client, unit-level file system, shard drive space) + Perform fault isolation and correction, (perform corrections, open/track trouble tickets) + Perform unit-level computer system maintenance (computer and printer maintenance) + Perform unit computer hardware management (receives/inventories hardware and software, turn-in excess hardware and software) + Perform Functional Area Records Management (prepares, reviews, maintains file plans; provides interim e-records procedures) + Other duties as assigned. + **Knowledge & Skills** + Possess excellent technical knowledge PCs, Wireless Laptops, Server, and related hardware. + Working technical knowledge of current protocols, operating systems, and standards, including Exchange, Windows 10, Microsoft Server 2019, Microsoft Office 2019, Office 365, McAfee and/or Symantec anti-virus. + Self motivated and directed, with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. + Able to read and understand technical manuals, procedural documentation, and OEM guides. + Possess analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail. + Possess strong written and oral communication skills. + Strong customer-service orientation + **Experience & Education** + High school diploma or equivalent required. + Must posses a Security Plus Certification to Access Government Systems. + Hands-on hardware and software troubleshooting experience + Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. + **Physical Requirements/Working Environment** + Normal office environment + May be assigned to first, second, or third shift work schedule + Able to stand and walk 20% of work shift to assist employee located throughout main campus location + Able to lift standard computer equipment up to 50 lbs Amentum is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
