This can include responsibilities for solving relatively complex issues and participating in or leading projects that focus on improving overall service quality to the client. The Consultant has broad, in-depth knowledge of the asset management operations business and is expected to have strong interpersonal skills to work effectively and independently with both internal and external stakeholders.Through prior industry experience, the Consultant has sufficient contextual knowledge of the investment operations lifecycle to work independently for the majority of assigned responsibilities.About Investment Operations Outsourcing:Northern Trust IOO offers our Asset Manager clients full middle-office and component solutions for a complex range of products, markets and asset types. Responsible for providing client service through oversight of daily functions and tasks, including but not limited to: new account openings, account maintenance, account custodian changes, and account terminations, as well as general client inquiries regarding event support.Cross train on all oversight functions as assigned, and serve as back-up for peers as necessaryReinforce usage of NT, IOO or client best practices within IOO and its support teamsResponsible for multiple projects of various complexitiesAble to identify opportunities for process or service quality improvement, while acting as a liaison across the enterprise to drive resolutionUnderstand and enhance procedures and controls
Client Service Management
Responsible for understanding client’s business needs and deliverablesResponsible for providing timely responses to client and internal stakeholder queries with limited manager inputDrive the engagement of other partners as appropriate to solve client inquiries/issuesFocus on first-time resolution of inquiries or issuesWorks to become a key subject matter expert on the IOO Operating Model, as well as the end-client’s businessAssist in the development and rollout of process changes necessary to align with client support needs and/or best practicesUnderstand current Service Level Agreements (SLAs) that are directly related to job function(s)
Relationship Management
Act as a main point of contact for client issues or inquiriesIndependently build relationships with internal and client contactsEstablish, build & maintain effective working relationships with key partners internal and external to the organization.Serve as a key subject matter expert and mentor to junior level employees
The Minimum Qualifications:5+ years of relevant work experience supporting Financial Industry Operations, Asset Management and/or Investment Operations clientsKnowledge of account lifecycle and the various counterparties within the support modelExamples of process efficiencies that have been implemented in prior rolesProven, Excellent oral and written communication skillsDemonstrated ability to prioritize and multi-task, and complete work with a sense of urgency that matches the client/issueStrong Analytical, attention-to-detail and problem solving skillsModerate Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot, etc.) and other MS Office application skillsThe Ideal Qualifications:A college or university degreeDirect investment operations prior experiencePrevious experience with asset management transitions activitiesPrevious exposure to / experience with business process and/or technology enhancement initiativesExperience with PowerBI or other data visualization applicationsWorking with Us:As a Northern Trust partner, greater achievements await.
