Marcom is the creatively-led global team that oversees Apple’s consumer-facing marketing. We ensure the flawless development and execution of world-class communications across all media and platforms. We drive the strategy and creative work that provide both new and existing customers with simple, engaging, and inspiring marketing experiences. Apple Newsroom breaks news of Apple products and initiatives and is the official word from Apple. The Apple Newsroom team creates editorial stories and short-form social video in collaboration with Communications teams across the globe. Description As an Associate Creative Director on Apple Newsroom’s Design Team, you will work with the Creative Director to create elegant design solutions for everything published on Apple Newsroom’s web and social channels, from press releases to photo essays to long-form editorial articles to video and photos. You will commission and provide creative direction for original photography and illustrations from contributors around the globe and work directly with teams across the organization to generate and gather assets for publishing on Newsroom platforms. Responsibilities include: Creating original designs that align to project goals and overall creative direction, fluid templates and Apple standards. Collaborating with the Creative Director, Designers, and the larger project team to explore concepts and iterate on design layouts and short-form video treatments. Anticipating and solving for potential design challenges, as well as maintaining existing creative solutions. Guiding ideas to meet both creative and business goals within the project scope. Presenting persuasively and clearly articulating design rationale for project creative solutions. Collaborating with technical disciplines to ensure designs work within given limitations, and files are prepared with all vital information to support the design intent. Reviewing final deliverables with an exacting eye, ensuring that layout, images, and typography are flawless. Continually seeking opportunities to refine design thinking and improve workflows. Minimum Qualifications Must provide a portfolio of work. 8+ years experience specializing in visual design. Industry experience in a publishing, advertising, or design environment. Experience designing for desktop and mobile platforms. Preferred Qualifications BA or BFA in Graphic Design or related experience; editorial experience is a plus. Experience working with Sketch, Adobe Photoshop, and/or Illustrator. Significant experience communicating design deliverables across teams and managing expectations along the way. Experience working quickly and decisively within aggressive timeframes. A willingness to adapt and modify your approach, without compromising on the outcome. Ability to focus and simplify in order to solve design problems. Capacity to build partnerships and work collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives.
