We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Accounting Consultant to join our client in the Insurance industry. This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your accounting skills in a progressive, fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in vendor management, payment scheduling, account reconciliation, month-end procedures, general ledger management, accounts payable (AP), and accounts receivable (AR). This role requires 5+ years of experience in the field. You will play a pivotal role in our financial team, ensuring our financial operations run smoothly and efficiently.

Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes.
  2. Collaborate with the finance team to prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
  3. Maintain and reconcile various ledgers, reports, and accounting records.
  4. Develop and implement effective payment scheduling systems.
  5. Manage vendor relationships and handle their queries effectively.
  6. Oversee the operations of the treasury department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives.
  7. Ensure the company’s financial systems are robust, compliant, and support current activities and future growth.
  8. Lead and participate in special projects, system enhancements, and process improvement initiatives.
  9. Provide strategic guidance around capital financing options to support company growth needs.
  10. Develop and monitor performance indicators, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of unexpected variances.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A Master’s degree or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred.
  2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position, preferably in the Insurance industry.
  3. Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  4. Strong experience in vendor management, payment scheduling, account reconciliation, month-end procedures, general ledger management, accounts payable (AP), and accounts receivable (AR).
  5. Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software (e.g., SAP, NetSuite).
  6. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  7. Impeccable analytical and organizational skills.
  8. Self-motivated and self-directed, ability to excel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  9. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis.
  10. High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
