Job Details:

We are on the hunt for a highly skilled and experienced Permanent Machinist to join our dynamic manufacturing team. This role is vital to our company's success and growth, as it involves the production and remanufacture of custom parts, ensuring that our products meet the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of CNC machine operation, manual machining, and quality control.

Responsibilities:

As a Permanent Machinist, your key responsibilities will include:

  1. Operating and maintaining CNC machines to perform various tasks such as drilling, grinding, milling etc.
  2. Reading and interpreting complex blueprints, engineering plans, and geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T) to plan and perform the machining operations.
  3. Implementing quality control processes, inspecting finished products to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards.
  4. Using precision measurement tools to check and maintain the accuracy of work.
  5. Conducting routine maintenance and troubleshooting of machinery to prevent malfunctions and ensure optimal performance.
  6. Collaborating with the design and production teams to understand product requirements and develop machining processes accordingly.
  7. Managing the custom remanufacture of parts, ensuring they meet the required specifications and quality standards.
  8. Maintaining a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Machinist in the manufacturing industry.
  2. Proven experience with CNC machine operation, manual machining, quality control, blueprint reading, precision measurement, and troubleshooting.
  3. Familiarity with custom remanufacture processes.
  4. Extensive knowledge of the operating characteristics and maintenance requirements of a wide variety of machines and tools.
  5. Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
  6. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  7. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  8. A commitment to maintaining a safe and clean workspace.
  9. A high school diploma or equivalent; completion of a vocational training or an apprenticeship will be an asset.
  10. Certification from the National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS) will be a plus.
