Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of construction project supervision from planning to implementation.
- Allocate resources for assigned projects, including labor, materials, and time.
- Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors.
- Review work progress on a daily basis and adjust schedules or plans as needed.
- Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques.
- Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Interface with project inspectors, contractors, architects, engineers, and clients.
- Ensure all legal requirements, building and safety codes, safety inspections, and local and state regulations are met.
- Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status.
- Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts, and obtain necessary permits and licenses.
- Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones.
Qualifications:
- Proven working experience in construction management for 5+ years, with a focus on overseeing projects from conception to completion.
- Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means, and methods.
- Expert knowledge of building products, construction details, relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards.
- Competent in conflict and crisis management.
- Excellent time and project management skills, with proven ability to stick to deadlines.
- Proficient in using construction management software.
- Strong leadership and human resources management skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- BSc/BA in engineering, construction science, or relevant field.
- PMP or equivalent certification would be considered an asset.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and construction documents.
- Demonstrated understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles.
- Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards.
- Good knowledge of MS Office and construction/project management software.
- Outstanding communication and negotiation skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- A team player with leadership abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities.
