Job DetailsResponsibilities:
- Handle a caseload involving medical malpractice and nursing home negligence claims, working cases from beginning to end.
- Conduct legal research and factual investigation to identify potential causes of action, assess liability, and quantify damages.
- Draft and review legal briefs, motions, pleadings, discovery requests, and other court documents.
- Represent clients in pre-trials, trials, arbitrations, and mediations before administrative agencies, foreign tribunals, and courts at the state and federal level.
- Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients in an effort to avoid court proceedings.
- Develop and implement litigation strategies consistent with client goals.
- Counsel clients on the strengths, weaknesses, risks, and costs associated with their case.
- Work collaboratively with legal support staff to ensure efficient case management.
- Stay updated on industry trends, legislation, and legal precedents relevant to medical malpractice and nursing home negligence.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the state bar and in good standing.
- 6+ years of experience as a practicing attorney, with a focus on medical malpractice and nursing home negligence cases.
- Proven experience in trial practice, legal research, legal writing, litigation, and legal discovery.
- Demonstrated ability to handle a high-volume caseload and manage multiple deadlines.
- Exceptional negotiation skills with a track record of successful settlements.
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, capable of maintaining professional relationships with clients and working collaboratively with a team.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and detail-oriented approach.
- Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
