We are seeking a highly skilled, experienced, and passionate Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Urgent Care team. This is a permanent position that offers a the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity setting, providing critical care to patients in need. You'll be working alongside a team of dedicated healthcare professionals, delivering high-quality medical services.
Responsibilities:
As an Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing immediate and effective medical services to patients with various urgent health conditions, including fractures, dislocations, lacerations, and infections.
- Performing minor surgical procedures such as abscess incision and drainage.
- Conducting and interpreting diagnostic tests such as EKGs, X-rays, and labs to identify patients' health condition.
- Administering appropriate treatments such as wound suturing and hydration therapy.
- Collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Educating patients and their families on disease prevention, medical conditions, and appropriate self-care techniques.
- Documenting all patient evaluations, treatments, medications, and transactions according to company policies and procedures.
- Participating in continuous professional development and staying abreast of the latest medical knowledge, treatments, and procedures.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, you must possess the following qualifications:
- Ideally a minimum of 2 years of experience in emergency room, urgent care, ambulatory care, or a related field.
- Board Certification & a valid Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license.
- Advanced knowledge and experience in performing diagnostic tests such as EKGs, X-rays, and labs.
- Proven ability to perform minor surgical procedures such as abscess incision and drainage.
- Excellent knowledge of infection control protocols and the ability to manage a wide range of medical situations including fractures, dislocations, lacerations, and dehydration.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to educate and comfort patients and their families.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
- Current PALS and ACLS certification.
