The IT Infrastructure Manager - Must be passionate about service, the employee experience, technology, and world class performance. This position takes on many facets with a core focus on Virtual Machine technologies, the messaging environment, data storage, and disaster recovery.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesProvides analysis, design, standardization, implementation, and maintenance of server and storage systems in support.Manages and monitors virtual environments including Host systems, Server VM’s, Virtual Desktops for upgrades repairs and proactive software maintenance.Administer and monitor the messaging environment to include installation and support of e-mail, Unified Communication, and Instant Messaging systems.Manage the data storage systems so that proper allocations in the production and development environments are maintained in accordance with business levelsConfigures, tests and monitors all servers both physical and virtual on a daily basis through manual and programmatic methods to identify, diagnose and resolve anomalies. Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all implemented servers and systems for ease of operation, maintenance and identificationSupport Windows and Linux systems, business applications, voice and data communication systems.Monitor and enforce software compliance as applicable.Daily management of a IT Systems engineering staff, to supervise problem resolution activities, operating system patches, software upgrades and hardware configurationMaintains physical computer operating buildings or rooms including Data Center, MDFs, and IDFs for proper HVAC functionality and UPS health.Provide support on VoIP and Video conferencing services.Obtain and maintain required certifications for partnership with key vendors.Assist in preparation of proposals and solution presentations.QualificationsHands-on experience administrating production and development server systems with a focus on high availability.VMWare VSphere 5.5 & 6.X, Microsoft Hyper-V and related management toolsMicrosoft Active Directory Domain Services, Group Policy, RDS, AD Domain services CLI tools, PowerShellExperience with Storage Area Network design, installation, and management.Windows Server 2008/2012/2016, Microsoft Exchange, IIS, SQL server.Management of automated patching and proactive monitoring technologies.User and device support systems for tracking problem resolution and change management.Backup & Disaster Recovery tools.Having the ability to effectively communicate complex ideas to technical and non-technical staff.Can work independently maintaining, monitoring and enforcing server/system policies.A practical level of experience implementing and administrating common TCP/IP-based services, including DNS, DHCP, HTTP, FTP, SSH, SMTP, etc.Expert knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policy, Exchange, VMware and Windows Server systems Strong scripting skills in Visual Basic, PowerShell, PowerCLI, etc.Troubleshooting focused on root cause analysis. Event and trace log auditingAn understanding of the OSI network model, Ethernet, and TCP/IP networkingAbility to lift, carry, and move all components of PC workstations, servers, network equipment, peripherals, and other ancillary equipment.EducationBachelor’s degree (preferably engineering related)ExperienceMin 8 years of server & system administration mandatory8+ years of system virtualization administration mandatory8+ years of technical management experience mandatoryWillingness to learn new technologies and maintain industry knowledgeExcellent customer presentation skillsVMware certification VCP required.Microsoft certification MCSE strongly preferred.
