The Manager, Accounting Position
Sunnova Energy is searching for a Manager in Accounting to be responsible for overseeing a variety of accounting functions for notes receivable, current expected credit loss reserve (CECL), revenue recognition,and other accounting matters impacting the portfolio of loan customers and transactions.
This position will lead and develop direct reports; review and evaluate day-to-day accounting activities; analyze, verify, and report financial information; assess and improve the financial reporting system as it relates to job responsibilities; and perform internal control activities. The Manager in Accounting has two direct-reports, subject to change as needs develop.
The Manager in Accounting will maintain an adequate system of corporate accounting records, controls designed to mitigate risk, ensuring that reported results comply with U.S. generally accepted accounting principles.
Manager, Accounting Responsibilities
• Oversees accounting for customer loans; includes working with IT to develop and implement system improvements for loan activity
• Oversees and calculates customer performance guarantee accrual and annual payments
• Safeguards assets and assures accurate and timely recording of all transactions by implementing disciplines of controls
• Works with the Financial Reporting Group for improvements; timely issues monthly financial records for management, Board of Directors, banks, investors and the Securities and Exchange Commission, when needed
• Analyzes variances in the budget and reports significant issues to management; prepares monthly explanations for Financial Reporting Group
• Assists in coordinating the provision of information to external auditors for the quarterly reviews and annual audits
• Works with the Information Technology department and various finance and business groups to assess and improve the current financial enterprise system, Financial Force; works to implement a new system for certain functions, such as a fixed assets system
• Completes other necessary duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
• An undergraduate degree with a major or concentration in accounting
• 10 years' experience including 3+ years supervisory experience
Preferred Qualifications
• CPA
• Public accounting experience
• Experience in the renewable-energy market
• Proficient in Salesforce and FinancialForce

• High level of excel understanding and expertise
