Certification Details BLS - Basic Life Support (AHA only) ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (AHA only) PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support (AHA only) NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure (AHA only) TNCC - Trauma Nursing Core Course (AHA only) NURSYS Verification (RN, LPN/LVN, AP) NIH Stroke Certification CPI - Crisis Prevention Institute Drug Testing Physical Exam Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap Negative TB or Chest X-Ray Rubeola (Measles) Titer or Vaccines Mumps Titer or Vaccines Rubella Titer or Vaccines Hepatitis B Titer, Vaccine or Declination Varicella Titer or Vaccines Flu Seasonal Vaccination/Documentation - 2024-25 COVID19 Vaccine - Booster, Fully Vaccinated (Dose 1 & 2 if applicable) Respiratory Fit Test to be completed at orientation Job Details Cardiac Stepdown RN 3x12 nights Blocked scheduling is an option 5 North/Step-down is a 20-bed (all private room) unit Strive for a 4:1 ratio but can have a 5:1 ratio, depending on our staffing situation Mixture of pulmonary, cardiac, neuro, GI, and surgery patients Unit is equipped to house 20 stepdown patients Patients do not require invasive monitoring May have a combination of adult med-surg, telemetry, and step-down patients Examples of critical drips: Amiodarone, Esmolol, Insulin, Lasix, Cardizem, and Nitroglycerin Job Requirements BLS and ACLS required 1 year experience required Schedule Information 3x12 hours shifts per night Blocked scheduling available Unit Specific Information 20-bed Step-down unit All private room Equipped to house 20 stepdown patients Patients ranged from adult med-surg, telemetry, to step-down Critical drips administration like Amiodarone, Esmolol, and others Additional Details Government issued photo ID required Photo Identification must be carried during hours of service to client Residency Declaration Form may be required if working on a compact license Type of Facility: Short Term Acute Care Major Teaching Hospital; member of the Council of Teaching Hospitals and Health Systems (COTH) Level II Trauma Total Staffed Beds: 330 Scrub Color: Black Scrubs (alternative: Cabell T-Shirt instead of scrub top) Surgery-specified scrubs provided if/when reporting to Surgery Charting System: Cerner Parking: Free for travelers - parking lot and garage available
