CNC Machine Operator ( Oxy Fuel/Plasma)
Summary
Produces machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine. This role involves maintaining quality and safety standards, keeping accurate records, and ensuring the proper maintenance of equipment and supplies. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
Salary: $23.00 - $25.00

Job Duties and Responsibilities
Plans Parts CuttingInterpret work orders, engineering plans, materials, specifications, and geometric dimensions and tolerancesDetermine stock inventory levels and place orders as neededLoad steel plate stock onto the burning tableOperate CNC Cutting Machine
Download programs for cutting partsUtilize proper tips, torch spacing, fuel settings, and material utilizationUse a gantry-style thermal cutting machine capable of plasma and/or oxy-fuel cutting, powder marking, and bevelingVerify settings by measuring positions, first-run parts, and sample workpieces, adhering to standardsMaintain Cutting Process
Observe and take measurements during cutting to maintain specificationsDetect malfunctions, troubleshoot processes, adjust and reprogram controlsAdhere to quality assurance procedures and processesFollow safety procedures and regulationsMaintain Equipment
Complete preventive maintenance requirementsTroubleshoot malfunctions and call for repairsDocument actions, irregularities, and continuing needs in logsProfessional Development
Participate in educational opportunitiesRead technical publications to update job knowledgeAccept ownership for accomplishing new and different requestsExplore opportunities to add value to job accomplishmentsTraining
Train production staff within the CNC Department on proper proceduresQualifications

High school degree and 4+ years related experience, or equivalent combination
