Overview

A leading organization is seeking a skilled Mechanical Drafter to contribute to the preparation of detailed drawings for specialized equipment. This critical role supports fabrication processes, ensuring that products meet high-quality standards.




Key Responsibilities

Drafting & Design
  • Develop precise shop drawings for equipment components, including assemblies and structural elements.
  • Utilize 3D modeling software to create assemblies and parts that adhere to project specifications.
  • Prepare detailed 2D drawings and flat patterns necessary for fabrication.
Collaboration & Communication
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to understand design requirements and specifications.
  • Communicate effectively with shop personnel to address design-related inquiries and ensure clarity throughout the fabrication process.
Technical Knowledge & Compliance
  • Apply knowledge of fabrication practices to enhance the accuracy and quality of drawings.
  • Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards and safety regulations.
Workplace & Team Requirements
  • Maintain regular attendance and punctuality, demonstrating flexibility to work on-site and accommodate overtime as needed.
  • Exhibit the ability to work well in a team environment while managing multiple tasks effectively.



Qualifications

Education & Experience
  • Option 1: High School Diploma or GED with relevant coursework and a minimum of three (3) years of experience in drafting.
  • Option 2: Associate’s degree in a relevant field, with at least one (1) year of experience in fabrication drafting.
Required Skills
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software for drafting and modeling.
  • Strong skills in producing 2D drawings and flat patterns.
  • Familiarity with common office software for documentation purposes.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
