We are seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Consulting Purchasing Assistant to join our team in the Manufacturing industry. This is a fantastic opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in purchasing and inventory management to contribute to a vibrant and growing company. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing purchasing activities, ensuring cost-effective, timely, and efficient procurement processes. This role requires a deep understanding of the supply chain, exceptional customer service skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments within the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and implementation of purchasing strategies to ensure cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
- Manage and process purchase orders and work orders, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Monitor inventory levels and identify purchasing needs to maintain optimal stock levels.
- Coordinate with suppliers, negotiate contracts and prices, and build strong relationships to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery of goods.
- Collaborate with the shipping and receiving teams to ensure smooth operations and resolve any issues.
- Play an integral role in the procurement process, from sourcing to delivery.
- Utilize Microsoft Excel and other software to track and analyze purchasing data, generate reports, and provide insights for decision-making.
- Adhere to and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance and consistency in operations.
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing queries and issues promptly and professionally.
- Identify and implement cost reduction strategies to contribute to the company's financial goals.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a purchasing role, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
- Proficiency in Ten Key, Microsoft Excel, and other relevant software.
- Strong knowledge of purchasing, procurement, and inventory management processes.
- Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with internal teams and external suppliers.
- Proven experience with SOPs, purchase orders, work orders, and cost reduction strategies.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and contribute to a positive work culture.
- Experience in shipping and receiving is a plus.
